Three arrested for Pinetown robbery

People working around the area who chased after the robbers assisted police to apprehend the men.

PINETOWN police arrested three men aged between 20 and 30 on Wednesday, 23 November for a business robbery.

It is alleged, the three men entered a gold company in Caversham Road and held up the employees at gunpoint.

“The employees were robbed of their bags and cell phones. The men also stole various carats of gold and at this stage the value is unknown. The men fled the scene on foot after they were chased by employees working at the neighbouring companies. Members of the Pinetown Rapid Response Team responded to the complaint and the men were arrested and the items that were stolen during the robbery were recovered,” said Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Bongumusa Manqele.

The arrested men will be charged for business robbery and are expected to appear in court soon.
