Explore a frog’s natural environment

Pre-booking is advised for this event.

HILLCREST Conservancy will host a fun-filled and educational family frog evening at the Springside Nature Reserve in Hillcrest on Friday, 25 November at 5pm.

These endangered species are being protected in the reserve and this event gives children an opportunity to look for frogs by torchlight and to learn more about their importance in the ecosystem.

David Whitehead will present a slide-show before the walk, and some interesting pictures of frogs in their natural habitat. David is a keen photographer and has captured many species and uses photography to promote interest in conservation. Frogs love the rain, so go along regardless of the weather. Parents can relax while their children enjoy exploratory frogging and wetland activities. Facilities are available (under the trees and under cover) if you wish to take along an evening picnic basket. Don’t forget your wellies and strong torch.

Contact Roger Broomhall on 082 775 5192 to pre-book space at the event as parking is limited at Springside. Entry is R20 per adult, children enter free.
