A BABY girl believed to be between 12 and 18 months old was found abandoned in the rain, last night in Mariannhill.
KZN Emergency Medical Services spokesman, Robert McKenzie said police were called to a sports field on Intake Road in Mariannhill.
“Police found a baby girl and took her to the police station, where they were met by paramedics. Police had wrapped the baby in a new warm blanket. Paramedics examined the baby and found that she was in a stable condition and she only required supportive care,” said McKenzie.
The baby was taken to hospital and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the baby’s abandonment.
