Local muso makes it to SA’s Got Talent finals

The grand finale will be aired on Sunday, 6 November.

MARIANNHILL singer and musician, Jesse Govender (18) is through to the finals of SA’s Got Talent, a TV show which is aired on eTV.
Jesse started playing the guitar when he was five and singing at the age of eight.

An ecstatic Jesse said there are no words to describe the happiness he feels. “More than 10 000 people auditioned for the competition and I have made it to the top six. I am completely ecstatic, it is fulfilling. It’s like now the rest of the world acknowledges my talent, not just my family,” said the talented musician.

Jesse who is currently studying music at UKZN attended Mariannhill Primary School and Wingen Heights Secondary.
He said he loves music because of its power to make people feel different emotions.
“Music makes people dance, cry and be happy and that really fascinates me,” he said. Jesse said even if he does not win the competition, he believes his future in music is very bright and promising and he hopes to sign up with a recording company.
“I also plan to do concerts and gigs and work on my YouTube channel,” he added.

He thanked everyone who voted and supported him through this journey.
Jesse will be singing live and competing with five other contestants on for the grand prize of R 500 000 and the grand finale on Sunday, 6 November in the Soweto Theatre.
