Dolphins Player Profile: Mthokozisi Shezi

Mthokozisi Shezi impressed cricket fans with an economy rate of 1.33 on his debut appearance.

Pietermaritzburg born Mthokozisi Shezi, known as Shezi by his teammates and Hollywoodbets Dolphins fans is known for his accuracy when bowling, he is a left arm bowler with a medium fast pace that brings it every time he is on the field.

Shezi has made a name for himself internationally and locally as a force to be reckoned with in the cricket scene. In 2006 he represented South Africa in the Under 19 Cricket World Cup in Sri Lanka. He was also included in the  South Western Districts cricket team squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup.

The bowler has 75 first class matches and 49 T20 matches under his belt.  He averages a wicket once every 33.44 runs in the longer format, while in T20s he picks up a scalp every 25.65 runs.

When he’s not playing, his hobbies include playing soccer and watching sport. Shezi indulges in steamed bread, sugar beans and Stoney and his favourite movie is Shaka Zulu.
