Man dies in bridge crash

ER24's Russel Meiring said the wet roads are believed to be a contributing factor to the accident.

A MAN died when his vehicle crashed into a bridge on Mahogany Road in Pinetwon this morning.

The driver believed to be in his 30s was the only person in the car at the time of the accident. Russel Meiring, ER24’s spokesman, said the vehicle was lying on the grassy embankment by the bridge. The man had multiple, fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene.

“It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle as he drove around the corner, causing the vehicle to slam into the bridge. The wet roads are believed to be a contributing factor to the cause of the crash,” said Meiring.
