Resident calls for rubble to be removed

The rubble has been an eyesore in the Pinetown area for nearly two months.

PINETOWN resident, Timothy Meek, is fed up with the lack of service delivery after his verge has been marred with rubble for nearly two months.

According to Meek, two sections along Langwood Road were resurfaced in two separate stages and the rubble left behind from the first rehabilitation was removed after three days. “A week later, the second section of the road was dug up and the rubble was left on my verge,” said Meek.

After more than a week, he decided to contact the municipality and was told that the rubble had already been cleared up. “I said this was untrue as I was busy staring at it while on the phone,” Meek said. “It has now been a month and a half and the previous times any of this happened it was cleared up timeously. It is now becoming a headache and it will fall on me to rehabilitate the massive dead patch on my verge. As a rate payer, I expect rubbish to be removed on time.”
