Brown’s pupils show support for MDF

The children raised R1600 for the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation through a civvies day.

TO mark muscular dystrophy month, the pupils at The Brown’s School hosted a fundraiser civvies day for the national non-profit organisation, the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation of South Africa.

According to Colleen Bailey, the principal of the school, they have had pupils with muscular dystrophy and felt this was the best way they could give back. “We thought it was important to teach the pupils to give back and that it was a worthy cause the money is going to,” she said.

Heather Ainsworth, the administrator and fundraiser for the KZN branch of the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation, thanked the school for the generous donation of R1600 and sent out a challenge to the other Highway schools to help raise funds for the organisation during its awareness month.
