SUPPORT the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) by purchasing the Under An African Sky 2017 calendar which is now on sale.
Every year, more than 3 000 injured, orphaned and displaced animals receive life-saving care and treatment at CROW before they are returned to their rightful place in the wild.
By purchasing one of these limited edition calendars, people do not just get the calendar, they contribute directly to the heart of wildlife conservation – rehabilitation.
“The 2017 calendar features breath-taking photographs of wildlife by some of South Africa’s leading photographers. The theme of the calendar very elegantly showcases the sustainability of our wildlife when allowed to live their lives in freedom, as nature intended it. This is something that CROW has been working towards for the past 36 years,” said marketing and communications officer, Sharl Els.
“The funds raised from last year’s Under an African Sky ‘Contrast of Africa’ calendar campaign enabled CROW to build a specialised baby antelope enclosure, which was officially opened in July. Projects such as this one go a long way in helping CROW rehabilitate wildlife and help give animals a second chance,” explained Els.
In June, Coral, a two-day old bush buck was taken to CROW after she was found abandoned at the Kloof Conservancy near Kloof Gorge in Forest Hills.
“On assessment, the CROW clinic team noticed she was dehydrated from not receiving milk from her mother and required specialised care and treatment.
“Today, Coral is thriving at the centre and was recently the first antelope to be transferred to the new baby antelope enclosure.”
After a period in the large enclosure, Els said he was proud that Coral will be released again into the wild.
