Support Highway Hospice charity shop in Hillcrest

The shop is situated at Unit 1b, 63 Old Main Road in Hillcrest (Plumblink Building).

DESPITE the rumors, the Highway Hospice charity shop is still operational in the Hillcrest area.

According to Sheryll de Jager, HOD for charity shops, they were told that the Highway Hospice charity shop in Hillcrest had moved out of the area. She quickly dismissed the rumor by saying that the shop used to be be at Elangeni Centre in Inanda Road in Hillcrest but had moved to a new premises, Unit 1b, 63 Old Main Road, Hillcrest (Plumblink Building) in April.

The shop is run by two managers who work alternate weeks. They are Phindile Mkhize and Jill Dippnall.

“Various pre-loved items in good condition are on sale and range from clothing, books, toys, linen, Bric A Brac, jewelley, paintings and more. Proceeds from the sale of these items are used to care for the terminally ill patients at Highway Hospice,” said De Jager.

Donations are also welcome and can be dropped off at this shop on 031 765 7083, or contact Robbie on 031 709 2647 to arrange a collection.

The charity shop’s trading times are Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm, Saturday 9am to 12pm. (Closed on public holidays and Sunday).
