The winner and runner up will participate in the Inter-District spelling bee at the Umkhumbane Hall in Ridge View, Durban on 31 August.

District 9 Libraries manager, Rajen Govender, congratulated the winners as well as the participants. He said the level of the competition was high and some of the words were tricky, but he was amazed at how some participants could spell the more difficult words and stumble on the easier ones.

“I think its quite possible as pupils always aim to learn the more difficult words and strive to do their best under pressure. I want to thank the coordinator of the event, Xolani Ceasar, all the District 9 supervisors as well as educators and parents for making the event possible and supporting the pupils.
