Positive signs of change for Open Door

ADT installed a new sign at the entrance of the Open Door Crisis Care Centre as a deterrent for criminals.

THE signage outside the local NPO, the Open Door Crisis Care Centre, received a much welcomed revamp thanks to its long-time supporter, ADT Security.

“The Open Door Crisis Care Centre, like any other NPO out there, is facing a critical time and any support that we can get is a huge contributor,” said Thora Mansfield, the director at Open Door Crisis Care Centre.

ADT has supported the organisation for the past six years and in that time have upgraded its security and placed a guard on duty when it is needed and support Open Door from month-to-month.

“We offered to replace the signage of the ODCC as a means to boost its visibility and to give it a more professional look upon entering the premises. We have found that signage can assist in keeping criminals at bay as the signage makes it clear that the property is monitored with armed response on a 24-hour basis.

“In our industry we often come across victims of crime and their need for counselling and therefore value the significant assistance the ODCC provide to the community. The ODCC are an asset to the community and it is a privilege to be able to assist them,” said Rynhardt Steenkamp, the east coast communications manager for ADT Security.

Thora said, “Our signage was looking outdated and this donation has given us a new image and will encourage people to come through to our organisation as it has a professional front. It also shows that we have security and will ensure that clients that come here enter into a safe environment. Thank you very much for this wonderful donation.”
