Garden club plants aloes on Field’s Hill

Marnoch pleaded with the community to ensure that the 22 aloes remain at the intersection and are not removed or stolen.

MEMBERS of the Westville Garden Club have donated 22 Aloes to Pinetown in memory of the 22 people who lost their lives at the busy Field’s Hill intersection on September 2013.

The Aloe Ferox plants were bought from Sandy Wortmann of Peacevale Nursery. “Her late husband, Jack Wortmann, grew them from seed.

“He was the magistrate of Pinetown for many years. Eric Mtolo of the Pinetown Parks Department assisted with the planting,” said Vicki Marnoch from the Westville Garden Club.

Marnoch pleaded with the community to ensure that the 22 aloes remain at the intersection and are not removed or stolen.
