THE voting process is running smoothly at the voting station at Avon Junior Primary School in Westville.
According to the IEC presiding officer, Runganathan Chetty, there are 1900 residents registered to vote at Avon Junior Primary’s voting station and by 10.50am, they had already had more than 500 residents in that area come through.
“We’ve had a steady flow with a short rush at 7am when we first opened our doors. It quietened down for a while and then started to pick up again after 10am. Everyone seems to be leaving here with a smile after having had a good experience,” said Chetty.
The queues looped around the school hall to outside the school gate. People seemed happy that the voting process was quick and easy.
The voting stations will be opened till 7pm.
