Star College principal, Osman Karaayvaz, said he would like to see this programme grow and to be able to reach more in the community.

STAR College Boys’ High School staff and some pupils, together with parents, recently went to Pinetown, Mariannhill, Kwandengezi, Folweni, KwaMakhuta and Malugazi to drop off food parcels to those in need.

Star College promoted this drive within the school and collected food and donations from the pupilss and parents and associated businessmen. Mr Atilla Dag, from the Harmony Turquoise Trust, assisted with the arrangements for distribution.

Raegan Pramraj, a Grade 10 pupil said: “Thank you for allowing my family and I to be part of this programme to distribute food parcels to less fortunate people at Mariannhill. It was a humbling feeling and would have been made even better if more people came. I would also like to thank my chemistry teacher, Mr T Denli, who invited me to distributed food parcels and to the people who helped and to the people who made it all possible.”

Star College principal, Osman Karaayvaz, said he would like to see this programme grow and to be able to reach more in the community. He thanked all parents and pupils that were so eager to offer help.
