Two die in Field’s Hill crash
Paramedics rushed to the scene where two delivery trucks collided.
TWO people were killed and another two were seriously injured in a head-on collision between two delivery trucks on Fields Hill yesterday.
At about 4.30pm the paramedics arrived at the scene. According to Werner Vermaak, ER24’s spokesman, two occupants were trapped inside one of the vehicles. Both of them were in a critical condition. Paramedics freed one of the trapped commuters and the other had to be freed using hydraulic equipment.
“Once freed, the two critically injured quickly deteriorated. Paramedics did everything possible to save their lives, but they were later declared dead on the scene,” said Vermaak.

The two occupants from the other vehicle were treated at the scene and transported to a nearby hospital.
“It is understood that one of the vehicles lost control and veered across the median into oncoming traffic,” said Vermaak.
The local SAPS were at the scene and will be investigating.
