Valley Trust computer class graduates

Most students received 90 per cent in all the modules.

THE first Valley Trust computer class graduated on Wednesday, 20 July. The new computer lab, which was established to empower the youth, was opened in February and funded by Robin Stead.

Valley Trust director, Sibongiseni Vilakazi, said the course had been very interesting to the students as it is self taught and self driven but they had three months to finish the course.

“What is unique about this project is that the graduates worked on excel and powerpoint to gain experience on those programmes.

Vilakazi said the course has a pass mark of 80 per cent. “It was a bit of an issue with many of our students, as they considered themselves 30 per cent students.

“When they first started, they would pass the module after 20 attempts and then it got better with time after their self confidence and belief was rebulit,” he said.

Vilakazi added that he was proud to announce that most students received 90 per cent in all the modules.
