Excitement galore at Ashley’s fun day

The local school will host fun and exciting activities to mark its 60th birthday.

ASHLEY Primary School will kick off its 60th birthday celebrations with a fun run and fun day on Saturday, 20 August.

The primary school officially opened its doors on 17 October in 1956 with two classes, a principal, two teachers and and 154 pupils. The school has progressed over the decades and presently boasts an enrollment of 51 staff members and 810 pupils. To commemorate this milestone, various fun and exciting activities have been organised for the last half of 2017.

The 3km fun run begins at 8am and the entry fee for adults is R20 and children from 5 to 17 years old enter for R10 each.

The fun day gates will open at 9.30am and the entrance fee for adults is R20 each and R80 for pupils, which gives them free access to the variety of inflatable games for the whole day from giant slides to parachute rockets as well as a mechanical bull and a foosball soccer field. There will be a DJ and lots of delicious goods on sale and stalls with jewellery, toys, clothing, books and a whole lot more. There are still spaces available if you would like to set up a stall on the day for R100 each.
