Old Boy relives childhood at Ethelbert

Old boy Desmond Humphrey was accompanied by the P.R.O from the Samsung Concept Store in KZN, Shane Spencer.

DESMOND Humphrey went back in time to 78 years ago when he lived at Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre, revisiting the time that he spent there.

At the age of five Humphrey joined the centre with his older sister, Amy, and although the original buildings have been changed, he was still able to make out where his old dormitory was situated.

“Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre have been caring for and loving children since its inception in 1907 and were so pleased to have an Old Boy pay a visit and describe how the centre used to be and how it has been improved,” said public relations officer, Gaylene Allen.

Humphrey was accompanied by the PRO from the Samsung Concept Store in KZN, Shane Spencer, who handed over boxes of Handy Andy to ensure that the hygiene of the centre is at its best. “It was such a heart-warming experience to be a part of this trip down memory lane, Ethelbert does such a great job caring for these children in need. I strongly urge other companies to get involved as your support can make a difference in a child’s life,” said Spencer.
