THE Kloof and Highway SPCA extends an invitation to all Highway residents to join its Golden Paw Society meeting on Thursday, 30 June from 9.30am to 11.30am.
“The intention of the Golden Paw Society is to welcome our supporters as part of the SPCA family and keep them informed about the work undertaken by the Kloof and Highway SPCA in terms of inspectorate activities, animal healthcare, care of animals in our shelter, outreach clinics and education to promote the humane treatment of all animals,” said Lisa Mörck, the PR and outreach officer.
The NPO hosts a morning tea on the last Thursday of each month, where community members are given feedback on what the Kloof and Highway SPCA has been up to during the month. The guest speaker for the June meeting is local nursery owner, Bobby Collingwood. Collingwood has been a resident in the Kloof area for 55 years.
“His grandfather moved to Kloof from Vrede in 1897. Be sure not to miss what this entertaining gentleman has to share with us,” said Lisa.
