Darian flips for SPCA

Thomas More College pupil, Darian Maclean, raised money for the Kloof and Highway SPCA by selling home-made flapjacks at the Comrades Marathon.

DARIAN Maclean, a Grade 5 pupil at Thomas More College, has a passion for animals and for baking and recently combined the two in an awesome effort during the Comrades Marathon.

She baked up a storm in her kitchen and made dozens of flap-jacks, which she sold to the spectators at the annual running event. She also handed them out to the runners. All funds raised were to benefit the Kloof and Highway SPCA. Through her efforts, Darian raised R1 000 for the NPO.

“Thank you so much, Darian, for your support. It was so incredible to meet such an amazing, driven and creative young lady who has a special place for animals in her heart – your support is so greatly appreciated,” said Lisa Mörck, the PR and outreach officer at the Kloof and Highway SPCA.
