POLICE are still searching for the five armed robbers who robbed a jewellery store at the Pavilion Shopping Centre last night.
According to Cpt Nqobile Gwala, a KZN police spokesman, the five men who entered Beverley Jewellers were armed with pistols and a rifle.
“They demanded money and took jewellery. When they were about to exit the mall, they came across the security guards and fired shots,” said Gwala.
She said that none of the security guards were injured and no arrests were made but the police are still searching for the robbers.
A case of business robbery was opened at the Westville police station.
