SPECTACULAR talent was displayed when pupils from Pinetown Boys’ and Pinetown Girls’ high schools performed their annual musical show.
This year’s musical was titled For Love and Revolution, and was directed by Quinton White. More than 40 cast members selected from the two schools featured in the show.
For Love and Revolution told the story of Dambudzo, a daughter of a general in charge of a military dictatorship, who, on the eve of her wedding, was sent away for safety by her fiancé, Lt Gen Hlauphizwe, after an attack on their homestead.
Together with her most trusted ally and chamber lady, Thembeka, they took refuge in a convent.
Life, however, did not get any easier for Dambudzo as she met a local boy, Fowabo, for whom she developed feelings.
Adventure and danger brought this musical tale together, set against the backdrop of a social revolution.
