Garden fundis to gather at indigenous plant sale

Enjoy a morning out with the family at the Drummond Conservancy's indigenous plant sale.

THE Drummond Conservancy is proud to host another exciting indigenous plant sale on Saturday 4 June at Lot 150/3 Duiker Drive, from 9am to 2pm.

The plant sale will offer a huge range of beautiful indigenous plants and trees, and local experts will also be available to offer advice on the eradication of IAPs.

A produce table will provide a variety of delicious organic and locally made goodies – from goat’s cheese to chicken flatties, mayonnaises and pestos, jams and pickles, free-range eggs and much, much more.

The Drummond Conservancy is a registered conservancy which has been in operation for more than 20 years. Its purpose is to encourage residents to be pro-active in caring for the environment and eradication of alien invasive plants and to replace these plants with appropriate indigenous flora. By promoting the increase in the variety and number of indigenous plants, birds and other wildlife in the area, the conservancy is creating corridors of green open space along river areas and between properties and fences. The conservancy also acts an environmental watchdog and reports problems to the relative authorities after consultation with the people involved. Educational events are also hosted annually, from frog and bat evenings to the Walk on the Wildside, which takes place through pristine veldt and ancient river beds.

Visit the Drummond Conservancy’s indigenous plant sale for a morning in the fresh country air while enjoying gentle live background music and a cup of coffee or tea with home-made treats. Beer, wine and soft drinks are also available. Regret no dogs allowed.
