15 injured in Pinetown taxi crash

Rescue Care and EMRS responded to the incident and treated all of the people at the scene.

FIFTEEN people were injured when a taxi collided with a truck on Richmond Road near the N3 in Pinetown just before 6pm on Saturday night.

Rescue Care Paramedics found there were multiple injured passengers and immediately requested more ambulances to be dispatched. Each of the 15 commuters were treated on scene before being transported by Rescue Care and EMRS paramedics to hospitals in Durban.

“At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision, however the necessary authorities were on scene and will be investigating further,” said Garrith Jamieson, operations director for Rescue Care.
