Vehicle repairs needed at Welfare Society

"We are appealing to any mechanic in the Highway area to please assist or sponsor the repairs and/or parts that are needed." - Ellen Attwell

PINETOWN-Highway Child and Family Welfare Society is appealing to the community once again, this time to assist with mechanical repairs for its vehicles.

According to fundraiser, Ellen Attwell, eight out of the 14 vehicles their social workers use for child abuses cases are not operational due to mechanical faults. She said they are all minor issues, except for one vehicle that has a major problem with its CV joints.

“These cars are used on a daily basis for child abuse cases. Our social workers also use them to go into rural areas, and we are unable to transport children in them due to their un-roadworthiness,” said Attwell.

The vehicles include six VW Citi Golfs, a Nissan Hardbody and a Ford Tracer.

“We are appealing to any mechanic in the Highway area to please assist or sponsor the repairs and/or parts that are needed,” added Attwell.

Anyone who is able to assist can contact Ellen Attwell on 084 016 8913.
