VIDEO: Police warn pupils about drugs

The number of young people using drugs is on the increase.

NO drugs were recovered at Pinetown Boys’ High School during the Pinetown SAPS school safety campaign.

Pinetown police together with Cst Musa Khwela from the Shongweni K9 Unit and his dog, Johnny, visited the school on Wednesday, 13 April to search for drugs and create awareness.

W/O Muzi Maphumulo from Pinetown SAPS said police, parents, teachers and the community need to work together to fight drugs as the number of young people using increases.

“Pupils are tempted by drug lords to be dealers in schools, which is the reason we urge parents not to give pupils lots of pocket money.”

He added that people should report pupils wearing uniforms seen on street corners during school hours to Pinetown SAPS.
