ESHONGWENI K9 Unit members were conducting operations at KwaNyuswa, Hillcrest, when they followed up information about a suspect wanted in connection with various house-breaking cases.
The man, aged 26, was spotted at a car wash busy washing his vehicle and was searched. He was found in possession of three laptops, a silver necklace and a cellphone, all suspected to have been stolen.
He was wanted for various house break-ins in Hillcrest and surrounding areas. He was charged with possession of suspected stolen property and will appear in the Pinetown Magistrates’ Court soon.
KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lt Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni, commended ever-alert members who manage to arrest a wanted suspect in the area. “Our detectives will work hard in trying to link him to other house-breaking cases reported in other areas. I also thanked the members of the community who provided information that led to the arrest of the suspect,” she said.
