Help keep a pooch warm this winter

The AACL in Hammarsdale appeals to Highway residents to donate blankets before winter hits.

THE Animal Anti-Cruelty League in Hammarsdale is appealing to residents to donate blankets to help ensure the animals in its care are kept warm during winter.

“With winter around the corner, we are desperately needing blankets for the animals. The nights are already getting chilly and we would be very thankful for blankets to keep our animals snug and warm,” said said Judi Gibson, the general manager at AACL. “Our animals will be ever grateful.”

If you choose to drop off blankets at 53 Artesia Avenue in the Leckhampton Valley, pop in at its tea garden, which has recently extended its operating hours and offers delicious light refreshments from Monday to Saturday from 9am to 1pm. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays. “The tea garden facilities are also well-suited to tea groups, book club meetings and bridal and baby showers,” said Judi.

To make a donation, contact Jenny on 031 736 9093.
