A MAN was accosted by three armed men while walking home along a school lane near Malvern Primary recently.
The armed men threatened him with a knife and demanded his cell phone. They chased him and,robbed him of his cell phone and cash when he dropped these to the groundm according to the Malvern SAPS. Police confirmed that a case of robbery has been registered and is being investigated. Anyone with information can contact the SAPS Malvern Detective Branch on 031 489 9624 or 489 9629.
Domestic workers, school children and the public alike are cautioned to be alert when using this route. “It will be safer to walk in groups and keep minimal funds and property in bags. Avoid wearing jewellery and keep your cell phone hidden. Avoid answering your phone and texting when walking along that path. If accosted try and scream as loud as possible to alert someone. Avoid walking near tall trees, thick shrubbery and thick bushes,” cautioned W/O Radhika Marimuthu.
