Children go bananas for health day

The children at Focus on Ithemba were given a healthy treat during a visit from Hirsch's Hillcrest and Food Lovers Market on World Health Day.

IN celebration of World Health Day on 7 April, Hirsch’s Hillcrest and Food Lovers Market teamed up to donate fruit to the children at Focus on iThemba.

“The children were given a talk on health and every child thanked us as they received their fruit. We are always happy to see everyone smiling and to give back to the community,” said Hirsch’s PRO, Taryn Taylor.

Focus on Ithemba provides quality foster care homes for vulnerable children and a school of excellence for the children in its care, providing a service needed by the community. “Realising the need for positive action, I drove the process to form an inspirational organisation entitled Focus on iThemba, the isiZulu word for ‘hope’,” said Darnie van den Heever, founder and CEO of the NPO.
