Woman’s arm caught in a pasta-making machine

Paramedics had to provide her with advanced life support intervention.

A WOMAN in her 20s was seriously injured this afternoon after her arm got caught in a machine at a restaurant in Jan Hofmeyr Road, Westville.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and were immediately ushered into the kitchen.

A woman was found with her arm crushed in what was thought to be a pasta-making machine.

Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, said, “Paramedics began treating the patient while rescue services had to use rescue tools to carefully break apart the machine.”

After some time, paramedics were able to free the woman’s arm, but found that she had sustained severe injuries to her hand and arm.
