Kloof artist shares her techniques

Don’t miss this opportunity to be inspired and ensconce yourself in a morning of art.

KLOOF resident, Anne Cleveland, internationally-acclaimed artist, will share her enthusiasm for and love of art at the North Coast Artists meeting, 2 Newport Avenue in Virginia, on Saturday, 9 April from 9am to noon.

She has been a dedicated full-time artist for 40 years. Anne is continually studying and is a popular demonstrator in a variety of disciplines. She is a member of many interesting and vibrant art groups.

Anne will demonstrating the art form of collage on Saturday and will show how anyone can manipulate, cut and put together interesting artworks using simple tools and materials such as magazines, newspapers, discarded books and even old letters, stamps and memorabilia.

Anne said: “Any age can enjoy this art form, from children to the elderly, and to learn to relax, be playful, and have fun with scissors and glue. This can be a liberating experience. It is so nice to relax and feel there is no right or wrong – just to make or put together something that is meaningful to you, and not to try to please anybody else but to express something out of your own heart, soul or life experience that resonates with you.”

Entrance to the venue is just after Danville High School in the church hall. Entry is R30 for members and R40 for visitors, which includes refreshments.

Alex Coutts will give a short talk and presentation on famous painters before the tea and coffee break. He will talk about South African artist, Jacob Hendrik Pierneef, and a few of his paintings.
