Police officer killed in M19 crash

The police officer collided with a stationary vehicle at high speed on the M19 says paramedics.

A POLICE officer believed stationed at KwaMashu SAPS has died after a collision on the M19 on Friday afternoon. The 30-year-old was killed in a high speed collision with another vehicle which was stationary on the busy road near Westville.

According to Crisis Medical’s Kyle van Reenen, the scene has been handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.

“Paramedics arrived on scene shortly after 4pm to find the light state motor vehicle had collided at high speed with a stationary road maintenance vehicle. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was found entrapped in the badly wrecked vehicle having suffered fatal injuries. He was declared dead on arrival,” he said.
