Pupils experience different cultures

Three of the pupils went to Germany and one to France.

FOUR 2015 short-term exchange students, Iona McNeill, Page Haarhoff, Lyn Hughes and Maxine Taylor, gave a very interesting talk about their stays with host families in Europe, having hosted their exchange partners earlier in the year.

Kloof Rotary board member, Selwyn Comrie, said three of the pupils went to Germany and one to France. He said the chance to experience different cultures and visit some amazing places was something they all enjoyed very much, despite the language barriers, and all were treated extremely well by their host families.

“They were all very appreciative of the opportunities afforded to them by Rotary and saw them as life-changing events that did a lot for their self-confidence,” he said. The pupils recommended the short-term exchange to the 2016 candidates present and thanked Rotary for making the exchange programme possible.
