Kloof island gets an Easter theme

"It is a really eye-catching and delightful sight." - Lynne Askew, KKBA committee member

THE Keep Kloof Beautiful Association recently had a change of business sponsorship of the large planted island outside Kloof High School, which is part of its Adopt-A-Spot programme.

Lions Kloof and Kloof Scout Group are now joint partners for maintaining that island, and their first stab at beautifying took a charming turn with the introduction of an Easter theme.

The two women who head up the two organisations are Trisha Smith (Kloof Lions and Scouts) and Linda Loubser (Kloof Lions president and Kloof Scouts Akela). They agreed to change the theme on a monthly basis to beautify the area.

Lynne Askew, a committee member of the KKBA, said it took them a week to get it to the indigenous state that it is in currently. “It is a really eye-catching and delightful sight. We’ve also had lots of interest on social media from residents and motorists passing by,” said Askew.

She is urging local businesses to get involved and contribute to this cause.
