The KZN African Violet Society will hold its March monthly meeting at Fairydene Retirement Village’s The Nook, 18 Stapleton Road in Sarnia, Pinetown, on Saturday, 12 March at 2pm. SOUTH African Association for Retired Persons (SAARP) Pinetown branch will hold its AGM at the St John’s Anglican Church Hall in Pinetown on Wednesday, 16 March at 9am. There is no charge. Members only. Tea/coffee and cake will be served.

A PRESENTATION on gluten sensitivity takes place on Saturday, 12 March at Westville Library room G1 from 10am to 11am or 2pm to 3pm. All those who suffer with chest complaints, sinusitis, arthritis, bowel disorders, anaemia, osteoporosis, neurological disorders, autoimmune disorders or ADD will benefit.

DURBAN and Coastal Branch of the Genealogical Society of South Africa will hold its monthly meeting at the Family History Centre, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, 144 Silverton Road, Durban (entry from Montgomery Lane) on Saturday, 12 March from 2pm to 4pm. Guest speaker, Christelle Horne, will present a talk titled, My Journey with my Family Tree DNA. Christelle is a scientist with professional experience in forensic serology. All welcome. WESSA Highway branch will hold a meeting at the Frank Farrer Hall, Palmiet Nature Reserve, Old New Germany Road in Westville on Sunday, 13 March at 3pm. Professor Mike Watkeys will present a talk titled Meteorites and Climate Change Have Been Vital for Life.

Prof Watkeys has a reputation for being an excellent speaker and giving insightful and intriguing presentations. Tea and coffee will be available at 2.30pm.

NEED help or are you a carer? A depression and suicide support group meets at 71 Old Main Road in Hillcrest every Tuesday from 6pm to 7.30pm. Entrance in Highbury Road.
