IN the early hours of Friday morning, Hillcrest detectives arrested a 41-year-old man for child pornography during a raid in the Embo area in Hillcrest.
According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, “It is alleged that during December last year, the victim (13) was forced by the man to take off her clothes so that he could take pictures of her private parts using a cellphone.”
Manqele said this incident happened on four occasions. “The suspect, who is married to the aunt of the victim, downloaded all the pictures into his laptop. Towards the end of February, the uncle of the victim borrowed the laptop from the suspect, and while downloading he saw nude pictures of his niece,” he said.
The mother of the victim was informed and a case of child pornography was opened at Hillcrest police station for investigation. The arrested man was charged with four counts of child pornography
