Deejay slammed for Facebook post

Kevin Minter-Brown has since taken down the post and apologised for his comment.

DURBAN deejay, Kevin Minter-Brown, came under fire after posting an offensive comment regarding the accident that happened on the M4 on the weekend.

Two cyclists, Richard da Silva (46) of Glen Anil and Jared Dwyer (36) of Glenwood, were killed during their early morning training session when they were struck by a car on the M4, just past Broadway.

Kevin’s Facebook post read: “I’m thinking of starting a running club… I know there’s plenty of other roads, but I think if there is an opportunity to put us directly in harms way, then why not?”

This was issued after the RTI commented that cyclists were not allowed on the freeway. The post went viral and according to reports, he has been the target of criticisms and even death threats on social media platforms.

In his defence, Minter-Brown was quoted in reports saying that his comment was done in satire but that it was done in poor taste and not directed at anyone in particular.
