Two trucks crash on N3 Cato Ridge

EMERGENCY services responded to a collision between two trucks on the N3 in Cato Ridge on Tuesday evening, 2 February around 8.24pm.

According to Chris Botha, spokesman for Netcare 911, exact details of the cause of the crash are still speculative; however, he believes one truck slammed into the rear of the other.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the road obstructed with accident debris, oil and the twisted frames of the trucks as well as some of the cargo from the front truck. The driver from the rear truck suffered serious injuries while the passenger escaped with bruises,” said Botha.

Medics treated the injured at the scene before they transported them to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg.
