ONE person died and three others were injured in a four car pile-up on the N3 north-bound before Richmond Road last Thursday afternoon.
Paramedics assessed the scene and found that one person was critically injured and died before they arrived. “Three other people from different vehicles had suffered minor to moderate injuries and were stabilised on the scene before being transported to nearby hospitals,” said Russel Meiring, operations manager at Rescue Care.
He noted that only one lane was open on the national route and traffic was severely affected while emergency services worked to clear the accident scene.
