Truck driver dies in Hammarsdale accident
The truck is believed to have to have rolled down an embankment.
A TRUCK driver died earlier today when the truck he was driving overturned on a dirt road in Hammarsdale.
ER24 paramedics arrived at scene and found the truck on an embankment. Chitra Bodasing, spokesman for ER24 said, believed the truck had rolled and landed back on its wheels.
“The driver, believed to be about 50 years old, was found lying on the ground next to the truck,” said Bodasing.
The driver had multiple injuries and was declared dead on the scene. “Sadly there was nothing that could be done for him,” said Bodasing.
The cause of the accident is unknown and the local SAPS are investigating.
