Security guard robbed in Pinetown

The armed robbers fled with undisclosed amount of money.

A SECURITY guard (28) from G-Force Security was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash in Hill Street, Pinetown on Wednesday morning.

It is alleged that the victim collected money from Supabets betting shop and was pushing a trolley back to a vehicle that was parked in Hill Street.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, the security guard was robbed of his service pistol by three armed men.

“It is alleged that the victim was forced to push the trolley towards Dales Avenue where a black BMW was parked.

Manqele said there were also three other men in the car and the victim was forced to put the money in the BMW.

“The robbers fled the scene and no shots were fired,” he said. A case of armed robbery was opened at Pinetown SAPS but no arrests have been made.
