Hillcrest High matrics look to the future

The overall pass rate for the school was 99.45 per cent with 82.4 per cent of matriculants receiving a Bachelors Pass.

IT was a day of celebration for Hillcrest High School’s 2015 matriculants on Wednesday 6 January as they received their National Senior Certificate results.

The top achiever at Hillcrest High School was Jared Reuben who received 7 distinctions with an average of 89.6 per cent, with a whopping 98 per cent for mathematics.

“To be honest, I was taken by surprise when I received my results. I would like to thank my parents for being my greatest supporters, encouraging me along the way and for their many sacrifices and to friends and family for all the advice that was given to me.”

He is looking forward to studying actuarial science at the University of Cape Town. He also offered up a few tips for the matrics of 2016: “Work hard from day one, believe in your abilities and have a positive mindset, do lots of past papers as this is the best way to prepare for exams, complete most of your studying by trials and set attainable goals for yourself,” said Reuben.

The next for highest achievers in the school were Madison Moulton ( 6 distinctions, 88 per cent average, with 100 per cent for visual arts), Sijabulile Ntuli (6 distinctions, 84.9 per cent average and took German as an additional language), Shannon Viljoen ( 6 distinctions, 84.7 per cent average) and Danielle Staub (7 distinctions, 83.6 per cent average).
