Dead dogs may have been poisoned

SA Can is attempting to find and notify the owners of the dogs.

THE bodies of two boerboels were found in White Horse Vale in New Germany earlier this evening. It is alleged that both dogs were poisoned.
According to Andreas Mathios from SA Can, he was called out by a New Germany Neighbourhood Watch patroller, Pet Rescue Pinetown  was already on scene. PRP had already made arrangements to have the carcasses  covered.
“Various calls to organisations to network and find out if anybody was missing the two boerbels was unsuccessful. We have posted out a message to all of our 5000 members in the Upper Highway area and to the Greater Durban area.”
Mathios said he had inspected the two carcasses. ” (I) found the one dog’s eyeballs were missing, meaning that something had been sprayed into the eye cavity because it was just a white marshmallow mush.”
He said the other dog had black liquid oozing out of its mouth which he believed could indicate the dogs had been poisoned.
He said he noticed the dogs did not have any lesions and had not been run over. “They were both dragged into the grass and just dumped there,” said Mathios.
He added that  the carcasses were approximately two to three hours old when they were discovered. Rigor mortis had not yet set in.
SA Can has alerted the SPCA and an investigation will be conducted should anyone be missing these two dogs.
