Rees celebrates his 104th birthday

Rees has had a happy and interesting life, he was a scratch handicap golfer, a pilot in the second world war.

WINSTON Park resident, Bill Rees celebrated his 104th birthday on Saturday, 12 December.

Rees who was born in Wales on 12 December 1911 arrived in South Africa on the first ship that entered into the harbour in 1921, the Armadale Castle.

He is former mayor of Margate. Rees has had a happy and interesting life, he was a scratch handicap golfer, a pilot in the second world war.

Rees who moved to Winston Park in 1977 is still very healthy, he reads a lot and enjoys watching television.

He spent his special day with his family and friends.

Rees was also an engineer and built five houses in Winston Park, including his house.

He has three children, two daughters and one son.
