Focus on charity

Focus on iThemba was awarded a cheque by SPAR and Camelot Golf Club.

THE Waterfall SuperSPAR/Focus on iThemba Charity Day was held at Camelot Golf Club on Tuesday, 10 November with a field of 32 players.

“This was below the number but we were pleased to note that despite the drizzle that fell the whole day, the full complement of entries arrived,” said Sue Hipkins, ladies’ captain.

A representative from Focus on iThemba attended the prize-giving and the ladies were entertained with an interesting talk on the excellent work being done by iThemba.

“Shaun Quin from Waterfall SuperSPAR presented the prize and we are please to be able to hand over a cheque for R6 500 to the charity, which will be used to purchase much-needed books,” said Hipkin.

Rieva McMurtrie from Focus on iThemba accepted the cheque, thanking SPAR and Camelot Golf Club for their donation.

“We really appreciate Waterfall SuperSPAR for their ongoing support of Focus on iThemba and the fact that they chose us as their recipient,” she said.

McMurtrie said its good to have a local company investing on an NGO like iThemba, which serves the previously disadvantages community in the area.
