Free holiday fun for kiddies

EXAMS are over and schools have closed - what now? Local libraries have exciting weekly programmes lined up for the holidays to keep your children out of trouble and entertained.

Waterfall Library

Monday, 14 December – Make a spiral Christmas tree.

Tuesday, 15 December – Have fun making snowflake decorations.

Monday, 21 December – Enjoy making an amazing Christmas nativity scene (take a shoe box).

Tuesday, 22 December – Make Christmas decorations.

All activities are free and start at 3pm at 11 Link Road, Waterfall. Take scissors to join in all the fun activities. Contact 031 763 3231.

New Germany Library

Thursday, 10 December – Face painting and pop-up card.

Friday, 11 December – Play hoola-hoop games with Aunt Zodwa.

Monday, 14 December – Learn how to make Father Christmas decorations.

Tuesday, 15 December – Make bottle-top snakes.

All activities take place from 10am until 11am. Contact 031 311 6474.

Wednesday, 9 December – Make paper craft angels.

Thursday, 10 December – Make bracelets and keyrings plus storytelling.

Friday, 11 December – Face painting and games.

Monday, 14 December – Make Christmas cards and decorations.

Tuesday, 15 December – Enjoy storytelling and make Christmas collages.

All children are welcome to attend and all activities take place from 11am until 12.30pm.

Westville Library

Thursday, 10 December – Create a jolly Santa pyramid and have fun playing skittles.

Friday, 11 December – Design and make a special Christmas card and play a game of horseshoe throwing.

Monday, 14 December – Create dazzling snow globes and have fun doing shapes and numbers puzzles.

Tuesday, 15 December – Cut out and decorate beautiful Christmas tree ornaments and play ‘toss the beanbag’.

Thursday, 17 December – Paint or colour Santa Claus.

Friday, 18 December – Colour and cut a popup Santa.

Monday, 21 December – Make a magnetic frame for your favourite photographs and have fun threading and tying shoelaces.

Tuesday, 22 December – Cut and decorate a Christmas basket and play fun board games.
