Pinetown SAPS launch 16 Days of Activism

The campaign did not not only focus on abuse, but the community was also taught about teenage pregnancy.

PINETOWN SAPS launched the 16 Days of Activism in Pine Walk on Wednesday, 25 December.

The Department of Health, Department of Community and Safety Liaison, Safer Cities and CPFs were also part of this campaign.

Cst Phindile Radebe, Pinetown SAPS communications officer, said for the next few weeks, they will be having many campaigns about no violence against women and children.

“The campaign did not not only focus on abuse, but the community was also taught about teenage pregnancy. Speakers encouraged people to take care of their health and use clinic facilities,” said Rabebe.

Pinetown SAPS also emphasised the importance of being safe this festive season and ways to avoid being victims of crime.

Radebe said there are many activities planned for the 16 Days of Activism. “People should report these kinds of cases, even us as women police, we are abused and we should all work together to fight this,” she added.
