Two cars stolen in Westville

The vehicles have not been recovered and no one has been arrested.

WITH the festive season approaching, a Durban resident has issued a warning to other motorists after two cars, including his, were stolen from the Westville Country Club.

Roly Kemp said the cars were stolen on Monday evening, 16 November – a Toyota Etios and a VW Polo Classic.

The report of the incident was sent to the chairman of Westville Country Club to inform him of the danger all people face who drive onto the club premises.

Kemp said his car had an alarm, tracking device and immobiliser, and still the criminals could have either driven or towed his car off the premises.

“There are boom gates and security and still the criminals went through unchallenged, and the festive season is upon us; it can only get worse,” he said.

Westville SAPS communications officer, Cpt Elizabeth Squires, said she can confirm the incident.

“Two cars – a Toyota Etios and a VW Polo Classic, both white – were stolen from the Westville Country Club between 5pm and 7.45pm.” The vehicles have not been recovered and no one has been arrested.

“The Vehicle Investigative Services Unit is investigating,” she added.
